About Casper de Boer

Casper de Boer lives and works in Roxbury, New York City and Amsterdam, where he makes web sites and films. His current directing projects include the online documentary Project NL, and the documentary short Look How Beautiful. He’s associate producer of God Loves Uganda, a film by Academy Award winner Roger Ross Williams.

After studying drama at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands, Casper made his film debut as an actor in The Assault, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Within a few years he played leading roles in a number of Dutch movies, working with internationally renowned film directors like Theo van Gogh.

Casper then moved behind the scenes, starting as assistant-director (To Play or To Die), and building a career in casting children in movies, script writing, editing, and movie marketing and distribution. He worked as Director of Publicity at Cinemien, a pioneer in independent film distribution.

Casper is a recovering ice cream addict. He loves Cote d’Or chocolate, Zabar’s French-Italian Roast, and Zoethoudertjes drop.

When not coding, shooting, or editing, Casper can often be found hammering, shoveling, and painting at The Roxbury Barn.
